Technology Description

This technology is a method for dual defect passivation in perovskite materials. The method uses quaternary ammonium halides (QAHs) to effectively passivate both cationic and anionic defects in organic-inorganic halide perovskites (OIHPs). With this dual defect passivation, the OIHP solar cells would increase open circuit voltage to 1.15 V and boost efficiency to 21%. Moreover, the dual defect passivation would reduce the trap density and prolong the carrier lifetime to further improve both the efficiency & stability of OHIPs solar cells.
